The idea of Confronting Christianity is that McLaughlin will answer the “12 Hardest Questions for the World’s Largest Religion”. If that seems ridiculous on its face to do within a 225-page book, that’s because it is.
Ultimately, the reason I didn’t enjoy this book was because the actual discussion of these issues is somewhat light, and I didn’t find its arguments very compelling. The chapters have too much fluff, mostly in the form of stories; these serve as a “hook” for the author to make a point about the relevant question at hand. That kind of content sells books, and it makes for a lighter read, but it doesn’t help me answer the questions.
No doubt, this book will provide some talking points between Christians and maybe non-Christians, but overall I was left unsatisfied.
